The smarter E AWARD Finalist 2024 – Category: Outstanding Projects

3SUN was named as finalist of the The smarter E AWARD 2024 in the Category "Oustanding Projects" for the application of its Gigafactory.

Gigafactory by 3SUN

The Gigafactory built in Catania, Italy, is set to achieve a bifacial heterojunction PV cell production capacity of 3 GWp per year. The plan is to manufacture up to 15,000 modules and around 750,000 cells per day, creating the largest integrated cell and module factory in Europe. The aim is also to encourage a shift towards Europe in the PV supply chain with the objective of bringing PV module product types that are both suitable for building applications and for use in solar parks and agricultural PV systems onto the market.
