LIEL by the Institute for Solar Energy Research (ISFH) and Aerial PV Inspection

The smarter E AWARD Finalist 2024 – Category: Photovoltaics

The Institute for Solar Energy Research (ISFH) and Aerial PV Inspection werenamed as finalists of the The smarter E AWARD 2024 in the Category "Photovoltaics" for the application LIEL.

LIEL by the Institute for Solar Energy Research (ISFH) and Aerial PV Inspection

The well-established imaging PV module characterization technique using electroluminescence is now being expanded by LIEL, the smart measuring tool and service implemented by the Institute for Solar Energy Research (ISFH) and their partner Areal PV Inspection. The inspection method makes it possible to measure EL images of one half the solar cells in the dark, while the other half of the solar cells is illuminated by daylight. LIEL is carried out during the day, it is portable and it does not require any system operation interruption, rewiring or special electrical adjustment to current PV modules. This makes it a versatile and safe module characterization and error detection tool, resulting in increased measuring throughput and cost savings, especially in large-scale PV power plants.
