ArcelorMittal Construction was named as finalist of the The smarter E AWARD 2024 in the Category "Photovoltaics" for the application Helioroof.

The French building materials company produces heat-insulating standing seam sheet metal roof elements, also known as sandwich roof panels, which are equipped with high-performance PV modules with plastic covers and TOPCon cells. These panels can be used to efficiently build or replace entire roofs for heated residential and commercial premises up to a length of 11 meters with an output of 2.2 kW. The additional weight of this BIPV solution contributes just 2.5 kg/sqm, compared to 12 kg/sqm in the case of conventional PV modules including their required substructure. Likewise, the lack of glass and substructure reduces the carbon footprint by 25%.
