While conventional tracking systems measure wind speed using anemometers installed on-site or data from nearby weather stations—and then rotate the entire plant out of the wind during high winds and storms—this system for horizontal single-axis trackers measures wind pressure directly on the tracker structure. This enables each tracker row to respond individually in real time, allowing for faster and more precise control. By analyzing torsional vibrations, natural frequency, and damping, the system detects aeroelastic instability and activates protection only where and when it is needed. As a result, safety is improved while misalignment and unnecessary yield losses are reduced.
