The HiMO 9 Ice Shield module is a bifacial utility-scale PV module specifically designed to withstand extreme weather events involving hail and accompanying storms. Compared to standard designs, it uses significantly reinforced glass and a high-strength aluminum frame, enabling it to pass hail tests that, according to the manufacturer, cover 97 % of all hail scenarios. The module incorporates back-contact cells from the HPBC 2.0 series.
