PHENOGY was named as finalist of the The smarter E AWARD 2026 in the category "Energy Storage" for the application "PHENOGY 1 Series: PHENOGY 1.0 and PHENOGY 1.1".
With the PHENOGY 1 Series, PHENOGY has introduced a Sodium-Ion base 50 kW/100 kWh C&I cabinet (PHENOGY 1.1) and an 400 kW/800 kWh utility-scale container (PHENOGY 1.0). The choice of sodium-ion batteries eliminates the need for lithium and graphite in the active materials, reducing the dependency on critical raw materials. With a cycle life of more than 10,000 cycles, the system exceeds most Li-Ion based C&I systems while making use of the extended temperature range offered by the sodium-ion technology with an air-cooled system, reducing auxiliary power demands. A demonstration system is in operation in Bremen since 2025.
