PHENOGY was named as winner of the The smarter E AWARD 2026 in the category "Energy Storage" for the application "PHENOGY 1 Series: PHENOGY 1.0 and PHENOGY 1.1".
The PHENOGY 1 series is a sodium-ion BESS with a cabinet-based and utility-scale variant. Containing no lithium or graphite, these sodium-based batteries have a smaller environmental impact. Their higher temperature stability and air-cooling system ensure safe operation and over 10,000 full cycles. A flexible EMS provides cloud-based monitoring and remote control while enabling autonomous operation. In 2025, PHENOGY deployed a pilot system in Bremen, Germany, the largest of its kind in Europe. The PHENOGY 1 series is a new milestone in the maturity of sodium-ion battery technology.
