When charging electric trucks and buses in depots, space for charging infrastructure is often extremely limited. This is where Vector Informatik’s Smart Charging Connector comes into play: it enables charging cables of up to 100 meters, allowing vehicles parked further away to be reached. An integrated controller within the CCS connector handles vehicle communication (PLC) and enables RFID authentication. The connection to the charging station, however, is established via Ethernet, providing more stable, faster, and more interference-resistant data transmission compared to conventional PLC solutions. Developed in collaboration with Lapp Mobility, the system is designed for CCS1, CCS2, and MCS, offering a space-saving and flexible solution for complex depot environments.
